Synopsis
"Louisiana Lockdown" takes viewers inside Louisiana State Penitentiary (also known as Angola Prison), one of the largest maximum security prisons in the United States. It houses more than 5,000 violent offenders, leading to its fierce reputation -- dating back to 1901 -- as a brutal penitentiary with a history of riots and murder. It also has a very unique setup. While many of the prisoners serve their time in solitary confinement, others earn the privilege of raising animals and training for the annual prison rodeo on Angola's secluded grounds, which measure 18,000 acres. Also, the warden and the staff reside at the prison and raise their families alongside the inmates they oversee.Rating
