    Baxter Autumn

  • Steady winds and consistent waves draw surfers and windsurfers from far and wide to Ho'okipa Beach Park on the North Shore of Maui.

  • The blossoms of the jacaranda fall like rain from the trees and collect like snow, softening the spring of this mid-Pacific subtropical archipelago.

  • A brilliant October sun rises out over the islands of Penobscot Bay; hillsides blush red, orange, and yellow, migrating waterfowl seek out marshes, and ancient lichens overtake glacial boulders.

  • Witness the event of dawn alongside a magical inland pond with birds, millipedes, and a range of plants; this is sunrise in the state of Rio Grande do Norte in northeastern Brazil.

  • Gentle waves wash an intimate Hawaiian beach as a pair of nature's dominant species exchange nuptials under a golden sun.

  • The sun rises on the shores of Año Nuevo, awakening a slumbering elephant seal colony; boisterous young and old males jockey for top-dog status, while young pups and females try to stay clear.
