Rodney Alcala flees Los Angeles in 1968 after the rape and attempted murder of an 8-year-old girl, but after moving to New York under an assumed name, he begins working at a New Hampshire arts camp for children.
After his early release in 1974 from prison, Rodney Alcala's victim count continues to rise as he uses his photography skills to prey on both young women and children.
In 1979 on Huntington Beach, Calif., a girl goes missing and is later found dead in a wooded area; the only lead is a sketch composite that resembles Alcala.
