—The survivalists living on Great Slave Lake in Canada's Northwest Territories say it's not man that threatens their existence, it's woman: Mother Nature. "Ice Lake Rebels" follows a handful of residents who willingly face food shortages, dangerous terrain and deadly weather conditions for off-the-grid freedom. Because they reside in floating homes or houseboats and not on land, the denizens of Great Slave Lake are not subjected to taxation and the rule of law. However, their frozen utopia isn't always what it's cracked up to be, especially when the ice begins to thaw beneath their homes. The unpredictable conditions mean competition is fierce for the lake's most secure locations and for its scarce supplies.

Season 110 of 11 Episodes

  • Houseboats are in jeopardy with the winter freeze only days away; Stephan and Alice struggle to fix floats; Randy hunts moose despite a shortage; Pike Mike battles a storm; newcomers Iman and Jessica learn firsthand dangers of the freeze-up period.

  • Now that the lake is frozen over, the rebels must stock up food for the long winter; Randy tries a second caribou hunt; Brian and Henry begin to fill nine empty freezers; Pike Mike teaches Stephan and Allyce the art of ancient Northern Bush fishing.

  • After helping Henry and Brian with their Bombardier, Stephan pleads for their help; when Allyce has not heard from him, her panic sets off a chain reaction forcing Ranger Randy, Pike Mike and Ragnar to launch a frantic search party.

  • Things go from bad to worse for Stephan and Allyce when they return from fishing to find their house frozen, heat shut off, and plumbing lines collapsing as the temperature drops to 50 below, while Brian and Sheila catch record numbers of fish.

  • On Great Slave Lake there is time made for play; after successful hunt, Randy enters national ice carving championship; Stephan and Allyce return home to find that they have no power; Molly gives up city life to help her father Gary open restaurant.

  • As the rebels participate in the annual lake games event, they hone their survival skills by building fires, throwing axes, and pulling toboggans as well as other events that pair up technical expertise with good-old-fashioned Northern ingenuity.

  • The rebels prepare their safety routines and drills as the ice on the lake begins to soften; Henry is close when Brian falls through the ice; Gary teaches Molly how to escape from falling ice; Randy begins building a floating home.

  • Strong winds start breaking up the ice; Stephan and Allyce use their motorboat to help it along; a storm gets the better of Gary and Molly as their home, the Molly Barge, gets displaced; Gary must race to re-anchor it.

  • It seems that everyone is moving... literally; Stephan and Allyce finally get married; Pike Mike plans on moving to a quieter part of the lake; Randy gets his cabin-sized raft stuck on a sheet of ice in the river.
