  • Truckers venture 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle on the most isolated and dangerous ice roads in North America to deliver vital supplies to natural gas and mineral exploration sites.
  • After just two days in the Arctic, the critical demands of the oil exploration sites are testing the limits of the truckers and their machines; mechanical failures threaten to halt operations; Rick has a costly mishap; Drew seeks a job.
  • Before the first storm of the ice road season strikes, Davey Lennie is called to rescue a stranded trucker; a blizzard makes ice roads impassable and dangerous, shutting down operations; Rick has two accidents in four days.
  • MGM breaks camp to move everything to a new base, including its 135-foot, $250,000 derrick -- the tallest and most expensive structure in the Arctic; Drew Sherwood's first big rig solo is only to deliver junk food; a storm strikes.
  • After the storm clears, all the truckers are ready to roll except Rick, who is on the verge of quitting and seeks advice from Hugh; Jerry makes a second attempt at moving the MGM camp with a "two trucking" technique.
  • After delivering the fragile 135-foot derrick to the MGM exploration site, the truckers must also transport its base, an 80-ton substructure that ranks as the heaviest and most-dangerous load of the season.
  • Bear and Eric must haul critical equipment to Langley at the same time a polar bear is spotted in the area; Rich is irate about a five-day trip he has been assigned; Alex's health deteriorates, and he must be evacuated to a hospital.
  • Alex receives a grim diagnosis that might mean it's the end of the road for him; Rick threatens to quit if his boss won't let him take time off to see a doctor; the veterans haul the final loads of the rig move.
  • Scientists are on the verge of a breakthrough, but the truckers must race against time to dismantle the Mallik Research site before the ice road melts; Hugh trains new driver Isaac; a truck in Rick's convoy experiences mechanical trouble.
  • Everyone mobilizes to haul away drilling sites before the ice road melts and they are swallowed up by the Arctic waters; Kurt encounters a convoy of "highway maggots"; a trucker volunteers for a dangerous mission.
  • The crew breaking down the Langley site races to the finish line as rising temperatures melt the ice road; Hugh's back-heavy load makes it difficult to get traction on the slippery surface; rookie Devon Neff makes his debut run.
  • Warming temperatures cause cracks and flooding in the ice road, making the truckers' work a lot more dangerous; Jody and Brett take on the challenge of moving a 66-ton derrick; Hugh runs full steam ahead.
  • Hugh and Eric are neck and neck in their race to claim dominance over the ice road, but time is running out with the ocean waters closing in; the truckers race to remove equipment from the Langley site; an Arctic whiteout threatens operations.
