Synopsis
After wowing scouts at a tryout in Arkansas, prospect Jerome Dean (Dan Dailey) signs a contract to play pro baseball. Like his brother Paul (Richard Crenna), Jerome is a pitcher, and they help the St. Louis Cardinals win the 1934 World Series. Both eventually suffer serious injuries, and Jerome, dubbed "Dizzy" for his eccentric ways, copes with serious marital troubles. After he's hired as a broadcaster, Jerome faces a new challenge from teachers who object to his informal speaking style.Cast
