  • The year is 1992; after a desperate search, the body of 22-year-old rising star Daniella Perez is found in the remote outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, shocking legions; police narrow in on a suspect revealing a tale of deceit, jealousy, and revenge.

  • In the days following Daniella's death, police work to coax a confession out of her on-screen love interest, 23-year-old actor Guilherme de Pádua; questions arise over the potential involvement of Guilherme's pregnant wife, Paula Thomaz.

  • Forever changed by her daughter's untimely death, screenwriter Gloria Perez fights to bring Daniella's killers to justice, which later sparks a nationwide push for criminal reform.

  • After new evidence places Paula at the crime scene, the couple appeals to the media, which ultimately paints them as a couple driven by jealousy and a deadly obsession with fame.

  • In 1997, Guilherme and Paula finally stood trial; nearly 30 years after Daniella's death, family and friends celebrate her legacy, while the case continues to shed light on the inadequacies of the Brazilian justice system.
