Synopsis
Once private letters and diaries reveal the intimate stories of the Windsor family as they attempted to survive through two World Wars and the loss of the British Empire. From Edward's historic rejection of the throne to pursue the woman he loved, to his reluctant brother becoming King George VI, the story is given new light with never-before-seen pictures of the family from the 1920s to the end of the 1940s. The documentary also highlights the personal lives of their lesser-known siblings, Mary, Henry, George, and John as they survive through the turbulent family affairs and political climate of the time.Cast
