More about CopyCat Killers

Life imitates art, as the old saying goes, which can sometimes lead to deadly consequences. "Copycat Killers" tells the stories of people who committed crimes that mimicked those that the suspects had seen in films. Each episode discusses one such murder scene and details law enforcement officials' hunt for the perpetrator. The cases are examined through interviews with investigators, victims' family members and forensic experts. Re-creations of the crimes and documents from the case files are also used to illustrate what went down. The crimes covered include high school students who killed a classmate in a scene reminiscent of "Scream" and a serial killer who fed his victims to pigs, similar to a scene in "Hannibal."
