From concept design to finished product, Kindig and the specialists at his 27,000-square-foot shop in Salt Lake City exhibit their process of building/restoring vehicles in "Bitchin' Rides." In each episode, Dave meets a client, reviews a car, creates a design, then the team tears down, remakes and reveals to the owner a unique masterpiece. Featured projects include a '33 Ford Tudor, an Audi R8 Spyder, a '69 Camaro, and a '39 GM Parade of Progress Futurliner, a million dollar restoration that took a year to complete.

Fabrication is done for the Ridler build, and the client is amazed by their progress. Dave agonizes over the color, since that's the first thing most people notice. The previous five winners were all yellow, but Dave decides to go in another direction.
The team passes a big milestone in the Ridler build as the body and chassis are merged with mock-ups of the other major elements of the car; for the next step, the body shop matches every panel, gaps the car seamlessly and fixes any flaws.
After almost a year of fabrication, the team starts assembling panels into the shape of a car; the chassis is also made of aluminum and after a painstaking frame-design process, the two shapes are melded together for the first and last time.
The fabrication process begins; the team begins to see how difficult building a car out of aluminum by hand will be; each panel needs to be handcrafted to perfection and some of the lines in Dave's drawings look virtually impossible to replicate.
The pinnacle of the custom car world is the Don Ridler Award, given out every year at the Detroit Autorama; Dave Kindig has always had a Ridler-sized itch he needed to scratch and finally found the right client and idea to make it a reality.
