Synopsis
Being a landlord isn't always a glamorous job, especially when you're in charge of hundreds of apartments that are home to low-income residents. That is the challenge facing Dave Paladino, who is the super for 1,700 such units in Omaha, Neb. He acts as landlord, manager, security guard, plumber, social worker, and whatever other role is needed to help solve his tenants' problems. Making repairs and performing maintenance are just the start of Paladino's duties. Hunting ghosts, tracking escaped pigs, and unclogging python-stuffed toilets are examples of unusual problems faced by Paladino, whose patience is usually tested by who and what he encounters on the job.
