Synopsis
Three couples entered into blind unions on FYI's "Married at First Sight," and two chose to stay together at the conclusion of the season. "The First Year" follows the newlyweds -- Doug and Jamie, and Jason and Cortney -- as they continue their journeys from the six-month mark to the one-year anniversary and beyond. They celebrate birthdays, holidays, and significant moments like moving in together, while discussions begin about the possibility of starting a family. Sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz, who originally mentored the participants, continues to offer them advice and guidance post experiment.
