Where did Wendy Williams go?

The former TV and radio personality exited the limelight in 2021, leaving her Wendy Williams Show behind. Many wondered why, and now the answer to that question is finally coming in a gripping two-night, four-and-a-half hour series, Where is Wendy Williams? You can watch the documentary series on the Lifetime channel on Philo at 8 pm ET on Saturday, February 24, and then again on Sunday, beginning at 8 pm ET. Or, stream it at your convenience by saving it to your DVR

Where is Wendy Williams Now?

The Wendy Williams Show (2008-2021) discontinued after guest hosts filled in for her while she stepped away to deal with her health. And now — serving as the executive producer of Where is Wendy Williams? — she’s helping shine some light on her whereabouts.

More details of Wendy Williams’ current condition are likely to be revealed in the first episode, titled I’m not a Crier. Though, just recently, her team announced that Williams, age 59, has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and primary progressive aphasia. “The decision to share this news was difficult and made after careful consideration, not only to advocate for understanding and compassion for Wendy, but to raise awareness about aphasia and frontotemporal dementia and the support of the thousands of others facing similar circumstances,” the official press release stated.

Williams’ niece, Alex Finnie, also said on The View that Williams and her family have had limited contact in the past year. Expect more to be revealed in the documentary series this weekend.

Where is Wendy Williams? Trailer

The official trailer from Lifetime’s YouTube account sets up the series with several teases. In the opening frame we hear Williams’ voice instruct us “from six years old, all I wanted was to be famous.” Voices ask why Williams disappeared at the peak of her TV popularity. We see Williams asked if she’s seen a neurologist. We hear others question her memory.

We’re told that anybody “could tell that something more is going on.”

We also hear details about the guardianship of Williams, and the various problems that arise because of it.

While Where is Wendy Williams? is capturing our attention in 2024, it’s far from the first time Williams has been featured in TV and movies. Williams also appeared in Lifetime’s Wendy Williams: The Movie (2021) and Wendy Williams: What A Mess! (2021). Both are available to stream on demand on Philo.
