To our longtime Philo subscribers,
From the beginning, Philo set out to be different: a streaming service built around simplicity, affordability, and respect. We worked hard to avoid the frequent price hikes that take place with regularity across the TV industry. In fact, until recently, we hadn’t raised prices on our existing subscribers in almost a decade, and when we have changed our pricing for new subscribers, we aimed to add value at the same time.
However, with the reality of rising content costs every year, this approach is no longer possible. The truth is that we lose money on our oldest plans, and have for some time. We’ve done what we can to absorb those costs out of loyalty to our subscribers, but in order to maintain a sustainable business, we’re making changes to some of our legacy subscription plans. Specifically, we are doing away with our paid 30-day DVR legacy plan, and will be moving all customers on those packages up to the $25/month* 1-year DVR legacy plan. Exact timing for the price changes will vary by account, and affected users will be sent details via email or SMS.
We're grateful that you've invited us into your home over the years. In honor of that relationship, we're maintaining this lower-priced legacy package that is not available to new or returning customers. However, if the offering no longer meets your needs, you can cancel via your Account page. As always, you can continue to access Philo’s free channels which include 110+ free channels, a 30-day DVR, and a growing selection of movies and shows you can stream any time.
